I want to discuss in this blog on how to overcome your depression using your mobile. Every patient that I have met so far uses mobile. In fact most of the time I had to inform my patient that please keep your mobile on silent mode when you are in my counselling session.
In this blog I am going to share how you can use your mobile to overcome depression. Yes my friend you are reading it correctly. I want you to use your mobile in such a way that you can come out of your depression.

How you can leverage today’s technology is in your hand. You can use it or misuse it. Both possibilities are there. Most of the time it is observed that misuse is more than its use. Hence, I am writing this blog to give you some insights on how you can use this mobile technology to cure depression.

Whosoever I have counselled in relation with depression they all have come from the following list of reasons:
I am depressed because I failed
I am depressed because I am going through breakup
I am depressed because I lost my loved one
I am depressed because of my parents

I am depressed because of my relationship

My friend, after treating 1000s of patients I have learnt that until you do not have a strong reason to overcome your depression, it will be very difficult for you to come out of depression.
One of my patients took 7 counselling sessions. He was 28 years old. He had lost his job. He was a good performer. After losing his job he entered into depression. He avoided depression treatment when he was in mild depression.
Mild depression is the first stage if you avoid it then you enter into the second stage that is moderate depression. When you avoid this also then you end up into severe depression or what is known as clinical depression or major depressive disorder.
So he entered into moderate depression. Thankfully, one of his friends guided him to contact me. He was very reluctant to meet me. However, his friend took my appointment and now he has no choice but to meet me.
First session went very well. I saw some hope. After 2 weeks his friend again contacted me and took my appointment. Now we had the second session. Even in this session things were better than last time.
After another 2 weeks his friend contacted me and shared that his friend is not at all progressing. He is doing nothing. I was surprised. I gave him an appointment for another session. In the third session, I discovered that he was just saying yes to everything. But at home he did nothing.
In this session when I asked him about his homework he confessed that he did nothing. Slowly I found that he was not interested in coming out of depression. He said, “I do not have any reason to come out of depression. I am a hopeless case. No one can help me.”
Yes, no one can help you if you are not ready to take the help. You have to build a strong reason to overcome your depression. So my friend, ask yourself what is your strong reason to come out of depression?
