What is music therapy for autism? 5 Elements based music - Introduction
5 elements are what create us. Hence for the “hearing” segment we have created soulful music keeping in mind various emotions that a person might feel and the emotion they could transform to.
Each element will have an instrumental track and music with a relevant Sloka.
You could also have the person use the positive emotion words while they listen to the music which will help them further.
The person could lie in a resting/relaxing position and if a sensory input might be of help, let them hug a pillow, soft toy or cover them with a blanket to give them comfort with some weight.
MUSIC – WATER ELEMENT
The music under the “WATER” element can be helpful in transforming irritation (tension, frustration, impatience and worry) to the emotion of GRATITUDE.
If possible, let them also speak the word “GRATITUDE”.
To add to the impact of the music and the word, you could also use the flashcard with the word “GRATITUDE” written on it which the person can hold or look at while listening to the music.
For a fun creative activity you could also paint pebbles beautifully with the word “GRATITUDE” written on it.
MUSIC – AIR ELEMENT
The music under the “AIR” element can be helpful in transforming anger (rage, resentment, hatred, and hypertension) to “PEACE”
